Yoshinobu Yamamoto was tremendous in his World Series debut, allowing one hit in 6 1/3 innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 4-2 in Game 2.
The Yankees made it interesting in the ninth, scoring a run against closer Blake Treinen before loading the bases with one out. The right-hander struck out Anthony Volpe before he was replaced by Alex Vesia, who got pinch hitter Jose Trevino to fly out on one pitch.

All four of the Dodgers’ runs came via the long ball, with Tommy Edman, Teoscar Hernández, and Freddie Freeman hitting home runs off Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodón, who lasted just 3 1/3 frames.
Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani left the field with a trainer after reportedly injuring his shoulder while attempting to steal second base in the seventh inning.
The series now shifts to New York, with Game 3 set for Monday. Clarke Schmidt starts for the Yankees opposite Walker Buehler for the Dodgers.
